Farmhouse, now house. Dated 1673 on lintel and 1931 on right gable, altered,
presumably at that date. Brick, mostly pebble-dashed, partly scored render,
all colour washed, tiled roof. Three-bay baffle-entry plan, with projecting
porch at junction of 2nd and 3rd bays, projecting gabled wing (probably C19)
to 1st bay, and a further continuation of one small bay on the main axis to
the left of that. Two storeys; 2-storey gabled porch in line with ridge
chimney has scored render front, open segmental-headed outer doorway with
large lintel lettered in relief : B

wooden side benches, blocked peep holes in the sides, studded inner door with strap hinges and moulded wooden
surround, and a 3-light chamfered mullion window at 1st floor; to the right, a
5-light window at ground floor and 2- and 3-light windows above, all these
with small lights and flush mullions pebble dashed, and labels; to the left, a
similar 5-light window at 1st floor and a large 3-light casement at ground
floor. Gable of wing has 2 large C19 windows on each floor, those at 1st
floor cross-windows with sliding sashes, and a side wall chimney. Right gable
has mullioned windows like those at the front: 3 lights at ground floor, 3 and
3 at 1st floor (datestone: A.D.
1931,
between these) and 4 lights in the attic.
Continuation at left end is of less interest, but the rear of this and of the
adjoining bay have 2-light cellar windows with chamfered mullions. Interior:
not inspected, but understood to contain back-to-back inglenook fireplaces
with bressummers, moulded beams in housepart and chamfered in 3rd bay, and
panelled service door at lower end of housepart.
