Farmhouse. Dated 1695 in gable of right wing, with left wing of different
build; altered. Mostly handmade brick on stone plinth, crosswing of
sandstone rubble, all with stone quoins, stone slate roof with projected
eaves (part felted at rear). Almost H-plan: 2-bay main range with
projected wing to 2nd bay, 2-bay crosswing at left end. All 2 storeys;
centre has dogtoothed 1st floor band, door at left end, and a vertical
rectangular 2-light sliding sash on each floor, the lower with gauged brick
head; gable of right wing has one similar window on each floor, each with a
short band above, and over the upper window a square datestone lettered in
B
relief T T; re-entrant has a window at 1st floor like the others, return
1695
wall has extruded brick chimney stack. Gable of left wing has a sliding
sash window on each floor, 3 lights below and 2 lights above. Ridge
chimney on each part. Rear variously altered, with added lean-to in angle,
but has a low 3-light sliding sash at 1st floor. Interior: very thick
junction wall to left wing; beams in both floors of main range with stopped
1/4-round moulding; one ovolo-moulded beam in crosswing.
