Farmhouse, now public house. C17, altered and extended. Squared red
sandstone in diminishing courses, with quoins, tiled roof. Three bays (and
modern additions to rear, which are not included in the item). Two
storeys; modern lean-to porch at junction of 2nd and 3rd bays, large
inserted window above; to the left at ground floor deeply recessed coupled
5 and 6 -light windows with cavetto mullions and a hoodmould over the whole,
the first 4 lights of the second window blocked and painted with "glazing
bars", and at 1st floor 2 similar 4-light windows, the second blocked and
painted as below: to the right of the porch 3rd bay has one 3-light C18
casement on each floor. Ridge and gable end chimneys. Sides and rear of
less interest. Interior: 1st bay has 2 longitudinal boxed beams, 2nd bay
has 2 large stop-chamfered beams; 3rd bay has stop-chamfered beam, and
inglenook with stone fireplace and bread oven.
