1853. Architect E G Paley. Altered in 1897 by the same firm, now H J Austin and
E G Paley Junr. Big School is 1-storeyed, with 2-storey gables at each end, and
crenellated turret to east. Rest 2-storey with brick and ashlar gabled dormers,
one 3-storey gabled projection, and 2 lst floor oriels (one rectangular and corbelled
out, other canted and parapetted, taken on buttresses). 2 window types, 1 with
paired cusped lancets, other 2-light with geometrical bar tracery. Doorway 2-centred,
with moulded jambs.
