SD 44 SW GREAT ECCLESTON THE SQUARE

5/7 Western house on southern
side of The Square

House, possibly early C18th, altered. Rendered, with corrugated iron
roof over thatch. Cross-wing plan. 2 storeys. Windows modern with
plain reveals. Main front of 2 bays. On the ground floor the left-hand
bay has a narrow window at the left of the door. Between bays on the ground
floor is a 3rd window. The cross-wing, at the left, has a modern bay
window on the ground floor and a window with segmental head above. A
parallel wing further left is a later addition of no architectural interest.
Chimneys on right-hand gable and on ridge of cross-wing at junction with
main roof. Interior said to have exposed ceiling joists.
