Viaduct carrying Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway over River Irwell, 1846.
Acting Engineers J.S. Perring, and Sturges Meek. Rock-faced sandstone
and red brick. Nine segmental arches 40ft. span 60ft. high, with punched
voussoirs and red brick soffits, carried on rock-faced battered piers.
