Two cottages, No. 492 dated 1794 above door, now all one club (Whitworth
Vale and Healey Band Club). Watershot course thin sandstone rubble,
colour washed, with vertical joint between the two, slate roof with
ridge chimney stack at junction. Double-depth plan, each one bay and
2 storeys; doorways to right with plain surrounds; No. 492 has one
stepped triple-light window on each floor, No. 494 has similar windows
but that at ground floor now has flat head; all windows have glazing bars
making 4 panes in the side lights and 2 leaves in the centre. Above door
of No. 492 is rectangular datestone inscribed M .
