2/71 Old Dog and Partridge

House, formerly an inn. c.1700, altered in C19. Scored stucco on sandstone,
with quoins, slate roof with 2 brick chimneys on the ridge. Four bays: 3-bay
baffle-entry house with stable at left end (projecting to the rear). Two
storeys; gabled wooden porch in line with ridge chimney at junction of 2nd and
3rd bays, 3 square 2-light casements on each floor, those to left of porch all
with C19 hoodmoulds. Stable at left end has door at ground floor, a flight of
external steps rising along the wall from this to a 1st floor door close to
the corner, and a 2-light casement right of this door. Rear has 3 chamfered
mullion windows: 3 and 4 lights (2 blocked) at ground floor, 3 lights above
(lacking one mullion), one other window at 1st floor, and one in the stable.
