east of Old Lea Hall

GV II

Barn, early C17 or earlier, altered, part demolished and reconstructed in
C20. Handmade brick on plinth of sandstone blocks (north and west walls),
coursed sandstone blocks finished with common brick (east wall), roof of
slate and stone slate (west slope). Slit breathers, some coupled. North
gable shows old gable line of formerly lower roof, walls raised c.10
courses above it. Interior: 7 bays, collar trusses with angle struts.
Listed for group value with Old Lea Hall Farmhouse, as one of the only 2
farm buildings remaining from the former manor house site.
