3/257 Watch House in Churchyard
of St Mary-le-Gill


Probably watch house or bier house, 1824. Rubble with shaped quoins, stone slate
roof. Simple structure of two builds, the later western end housing a dressed entry
with wooden linked and double doors. The interest consists in the pointed arched
doorway in the eastern section and the plaque beside it which reads:
