House. Mid C17. Coursed rubble to front, dressed stone to rear. Quoins. Stone slate roof, stone coping and kneelers surmounted with pinnacles to left. Centre and end chimneys. 2-cell plan with 2 storey outshut. Front has central 3-storey porch with cambered arched doorway and studded door. First floor has 3-light window with dripstone and moulded opening above which probably housed datestone. Under gable is 3-light ogee window with dripstone. Ground floor of main building has one 6-light stone mullion window and one 8-light window with king mullions, both have dripstones. 1st floor has two 5-light windows and two 2-light windows. All with dripstones over. Under the eaves are 2 small 3-light windows. Interior has large inglenook fireplace, moulded stone doorways. 2 plaster ceilings upstairs, one with circular and lozenge panels decorated with roses etc the other with pendant roundel and cornice in relief . Also plaster panels over upstairs fireplace. A high status house with many surviving features. (66/p161/RCHM).
