Public House. C18. Coursed rubble. Stone slate roof, stone coping, moulded
kneelers and gutter corbels. 2 storeys, symmetrical. Two 3-light windows with
stepped heads, square mullions. Semicircular arch-headed window above door.
Modern gabled porch. Lean-to extensions to left and right of little interest.
It is reputed that there were originally 2 Herders cottages on this site. The
existing building became an Inn in 1860 and was formerly a Herder's house.
