Pair of cottages of c1858. By William Butterfield for Viscount Downe.
Red brick with blue black brick decorative band and plain tile half-hipped
roof with part rebuilt brick central ridge stack. Main side to rear.
1½ storeys of 4 1/1 sash windows with 2 8/8 sash half-hipped half-dormers
over. Decorative wide 1st floor band in zig-zag pattern with nogged band
beneath. Diapering, 8/8 sash and door on gable ends. Facing Braeside
1-light windows, 1 storey extensions with doors and 2 6/6 sash half-hipped
half-dormers over. Cambered lintels. Thompson, P., William Butterfield,
