6/19 Stable block,Ashwell Lodge


GV II

Stable block, formerly barns, of later C18 and C19. Coursed rubble ironstone
and brick dressings with thatch roof. 2 sections, both of 2 storeys,
that to left of 3 bays with chamfered tie beams but otherwise C19 timbers.
3 8/8 sash windows with cambered lintels and stable door on right, loft
door over. Section to right, slightly lower has probably mostly C19 timbers.
Here stable door with 8/8 sash either side and loft door over. The rear
faces garden of Ashwell Lodge and the lower section has blocked opening
whilst the other has 5 small. windows. Stable block is included for group
value and together with Ashwell Lodge forms attractive group of former
farmhouse and associated barns.
