House, now studio workshops for Uppingham School. C17 main block with wing to rear
extended C18. C19 addition to rear, parallel to main block. Of coursed rubble, with
brick west gable end to C19 addition, Collyweston stone slate roofs, coped gables and
moulded stone ridge and end stacks, mostly replacements. Main block 2 storeys and
attic (roof possibly raised), 3 window range. Door between central and left-hand
bays, within hipped-roofed porch with Tudor entrance arch in square surround, hood-
mould over. Ground floor has tripartite sash windows 2/2:6/6:2/2 beneath chamfered
timber lintels. First floor has 3-light casements with glazing bars beneath timber
lintels. Three hipped dormers of 2-light casement openings with leaded panes. Wing
to rear of 2 storeys with ridge and end stacks. Sash and casement windows with
glazing bars. Quatrefoil window in square surround to first floor presumably brought
from elsewhere. C19 addition a lofty 2 storeys with mullioned and transomed windows.
