Barn, sometime stable, now workshops for Uppingham School, and wall. C17. Barn of
coursed rubble with squared stone north front, Collyweston stone slate roof and coped
gables. North front has lateral stack, 4 ventilation loops and later doorway. South
front has, from east to west, a 2-light ovolo-moulded stone mullioned window, blocked
doorway, later cambered-headed brick cart opening with C20 door, lower cart entrance
with C20 door beneath massive timber lintel, C20 door in earlier opening, 3-light
ovolo-moulded stone-mullioned window with leaded panes and cornice over. West end has
3-light ovolo-moulded mullioned and transomed window with leaded panes, 2 ventilation
loops and owl-hole. Wall to either side of barn of coursed rubble, and to east of
barn faced with squared stone. Coping and ball finials. Gateway to west of barn.
Sundial on south face of wall to east of barn.
