6/10 Whitmee tomb at Baptist Chapel


GV II

Shrine tomb. Dated 1869. By Swann. Stone. Fine miniature shrine with hipped
roof, a column at each corner and cross on top. Inscriptions on central square
pier to Mary Whitmee, died 1869, and her husband William, died 1877. Similar
in style to Swann tomb in Churchyard of St. Peter (q.v.) and inscribed on side
with stonemason's name, Swann. Included for group value.
