SK 90 SE MAIN STREET (South Side)

Dovecote at No. 5 (Knob Hall)


Dovecote. C18. Coursed rubble stone with quoins and Collyweston slate roof
with 2 square wooden louvres. Of 2 storey height divided into 2 square sections,
the inside walls of which are completely lined with many tiers of holes and
perches for doves. A 6 bay tie beam roof over, a square opening in either gable,
and 2 doorways to rear. A rare and unusual building.
