SK 90 NW AUDIT HALL ROAD (East Side)

3/83 The School

GV II

School. Dated 1838, enlarged 1872. Coursed rubble stone with quoins and
stone dressings and C20 tile roof with 2 small ridge louvres. 1 storey
of 4 3-light centre opening casements with small panes. Lintels with
keystones. On either end a porch with hipped Collyweston slate roof and
doors. Further small C20 extension to rear. In centre of front a stone
tablet inscribed 'This school was erected by Sir Gilbert Heathcote Bt.,
MDCCCXXXVIII: enlarged by Baron Aveland, MDCCCLXXII.' Included for group
value.
