GV II

House. C18, gable dated 1628 possibly resited at 1891 restoration. Coursed
rubble stone with quoins and stone dressings and Collyweston slate roof
with moulded stone end stacks. Stone coped gables. 2½ storeys of 3 2-light
casements over 2 similar and 2 2-light hipped dormers. On left end 2
storey wing projects to rear. On this a 2 storey 5-light stone mullion
canted bay, the gable with kneelers, stone coping and finial. Inscribed
AN.DO.1628. To right a glazed door with overlight, 2 1-lights above and
tablet inscribed 'Nisi Dominus Frustra 1891'. Second wing to rear with
stone ridge and brick end stacks and present entrance. Extending from
right end of front a stone coped wall c2m high and linking house to small
1 storey garden room with pyramidal Collyweston slate roof and 2-light
stone mullion window to road.
