7/246 Pear Tree Cottage

Cottage. Dated 1827. Coursed rubble stone with quoins and C20 tile hipped
roof with stone central ridge stack. 2 storeys of 2 3-light casements
with top lights. Segmental arches with keystones. Central door with Gothic
arch and 6-panelled door. Stone tablet over inscribed 'S.O.B. 1827'.
2 storey extension to rear. The 'S.O.B'. almost certainly stands for
the O'Brien family, owners of Tixover Hall (q.v.).
