Church, c.1200 in origin, C13 tower and spire, C14 porch. Mostly C15 otherwise,
restored 1857. Consists of 3-bay nave and aisles, 2-bay chancel, south porch; west
tower and spire, north vestry of ashlar. Roofs not visible (probably of lead).
3-stage west tower with flat corner buttresses, string courses between storeys and
table of corbel heads at the top lit by lancets and with 2-light bell-openings, of
Y tracery on shafts with shaft-rings and nail-head decoration between. Octogonal
broach spire has gabled lucarnes at the base of each cardinal side, with tracery
similar to that of the bell-openings, whilst the other sides have smaller, blocked
lucarnes with nail-head decoration. Embattled south porch has arched entrance with
open cusping, on embattled capitals. Later 3-light window over, with round cusped
heads beneath hood mould,and small 2-light Decorated windows to east and west. C15
aisles and chancel; window tracery mostly recut. Interior has 3-bay nave arcade of
pointed double-chamfered arches carried on cylindrical columns with waterleaf
capitals. C13 tower arch and chancel arch. C15 clerestory and roof carried on
corbel heads. Chancel, with C19 roof, contains C14 2-seat sedilia with nodding ogee
canopies.
