BROOK STREET (West Side),
Baptist Chapel

II GV

1862. Red brick with plinth. Gable end faces Market Street. Roof not visible.
Brick pilasters flank side bays. 2 storeys. 4 windows, the centre 2 paired,
those of lst floor round arched with keystones and stone bands forming moulded
string course at impost height. Centre 2 windows have engaged stone pillar between
them. Ground floor, the outer windows with stone cornices and moulded string
course at impost height. All windows with geometric designs in latticed glazing.
Centre portico with cornice above flush with facade. Centre and engaged outer
stone pillars. Steps. Side facade has 4 windows and 2 bays slightly lower at
north end. All round arched 1st floor, flat arches ground floor, southern 4
with same glazing as main facade.
