SW 30 NW side) APPLEBY PARVA

Cottage of early C19. Whitewashed red brick with plain tiled roof. Large
rebuilt central stack (blue bricks). Octagonal plan of 2 storeys. Front and
rear 2 and 3-light casements, stone sills and flat lintels. To left C20 door
and windows, to right altered casement. C20 triangular 2 storey addition, flat
roof, to right of front, door and 2 windows. 3 remaining diagonal walls blank.
Said to have been built as head gardener's cottage for nearby demolished
Appleby Hall.
