Cottage of C17. Rear part of No. 56: front of little interest. Both at 90° to street. Timber framed with thatched roof, hipped to rear. 6 x 4 x 3 panels high on stone plinth. Square panels with part brick, part stone, infill. Joining timber framed and front part a late C17 or C18 extension in red brick on stone plinth under same thatched roof. A ridge stack at junction of these two parts. One and a half storeys with various C19 and C20 casements and door.
