Mill and cottage (now derelict) of C17/C18 with alterations. Red brick,
small section diapered, with brick dentilled eaves and plain tile roof to
front, Swithland slate on rear wing. 2 storeys with doors above one
another and 2 window openings to left, one with cambered lintel.
Outshut with rubble stone walling on left end with window frame above.
Outshut with door to right. 2 window openings and blocked door with
cambered lintel on right gable. Wing to rear with door, window openings
and ridge stack. Interior: overshot waterwheel and machinery remain.
Site mentioned in Domesday Book as having a mill. Ashton, N.,
Leicestershire Water Mills, Wymondham, 1977, p 74.
