Dovecote at Shenton Hall

GV II*


Dovecote, dated 1719. Brick with plain tiled roof. Square in plan, each
elevation gabled. Two storeyed with brick string courses. Doorway in eastern
elevation. Central leaded cupola giving entrance for doves. Inside, the
walls are completely lined with nesting boxes, and the central potence with
its pair of ladders survives intact and in working order.
