Orton House Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C18. Red brick (Flemish bond) and slate roof with
brick end stacks. T-shaped plan. 3 storeys with storey bands and
dentilled eaves; reduced proportions to second floor. Regular 5-window
front, the centre bay narrower; glazing bar sash to first floor centre;
otherwise C19 casements within C18 openings with gauged brick heads,
very slightly arched. 2 stone steps up to a central 5-panel door with
raised panels, pilastered and pedimented door case and a fanlight with
webbed radiating glazing bars.
