Probably early C17. Refaced and stuccoed timber-frame building. Three
storeys and attic. East front-two gables with stone coping, first and
second floors three sashes without glazing bars, two smaller attic windows
in gables with glazing bars. Good late C19 shop front with elliptical
arch windows with stuccoed relief foliage surrounds, central elliptical
arch doorway, pilasters with console brackets supporting cornice. Right-
hand return-same shop front, irregular fenestration above and 1 1/2 gables.
Including late C19 part adjoining west, red bricks, tall narrow, four
storeys with single Dutch gable, first and second floor wood bays in recess
with canopy over, third floor three-light window with segmental pediment
over centre light. Ground floor contemporary shop front with heavy cornice
with railings above.

Nos 1 to 9 (odd) and No 10 Hotel Street form a group.
