Mid C19. Red brick. Slate roof. Eaves cornice with modillions to soffit.
Three storeys. Eight windows, sashes with glazing bars, margin panes,
sills, ground and first floor windows have cornices on console brackets
second floor windows stuccoed lintels with keyblocks. Doorway have similar
cornices on console brackets, centre two (Nos 53 and 55) paired, rectangular
traceried fanlights, panelled doors. Included for group value.

Nos 31 to 61 (odd), No 1 West Street together with Nos 1, 2 and 3 Museum
Square, No 47 New Walk, the Museum and Nos 58 to 64 (even) New Walk form
a group around Museum Square.
