Built in 1848 for Samuel Stone an eminent legal authority and author of
Stones' Justices Manual. Italianate. Roughcast. Slate hipped roof.
Wide bracketed eaves. Two storeys : 1:1:1 + 1windows, in moulded shouldered
architraves, ground floor with modillion cornices. Sashes with glazing
bars. Band at first floor level. Central porch with two pairs of fluted
Corinthian columns supporting heavy entablature with balcony above to
first floor window which is in slight recess. One window to left set
back. Interior Corinthian columns in hall; staircase with heavy cast
