Row of 5 terrace houses. 1884-8 by Stockdale Harrison in the
Queen Anne Revival Style. Red brick with ashlar and terracotta
dressings. Plain tile roofs with decorative ridge tiles and tall brick
stacks. 2 storey plus attics.
146. Terraced house. 2 bays. To the left a lean-to porch with 2 arches
wooden columns and balustrade. Above a single cross casement and above
again a 3 light cross casement dormer supported on wooden brackets.
To the right a projecting gabled wing with a 2 storey 3 light canted
bay window with cross casements and a hipped roof. Above a large 5
light cross casement dormer window with corner balustrades and
ornately carved barge boards.
148 and 150. A pair of very similar terrace houses. 2 bays. To left
each has a lean-to porch with 2 arches and wooden columns, above a
single sash, and above again a 2 light cross casement dormer, that to
148, with ornately carved barge boards, that to 150 with a hipped
roof. To the right each has a projecting gabled wing with a 2 storey,
3 light canted bay window with cross casements and flat roofs, with
tile hanging between. Above the upper floors are tile hung with a 5
light Venetian type window each.
152. A large terraced house. 3 bays. Central segment arched doorway
with ashlar keystone, and glazed door with fanlight and side lights.
Above a single glazing bar sash. Either side are single 2 storey, 3
light cross casements, canted bay windows with tile hanging between.
Above upper floor half-timbered with a pair of 2 light casements. to
the left a projecting gable with 5 light Venetian type window and tile
hanging above. To the right a canted open balcony with wooden
balustrade and columns supporting a hipped roof, with a 3 light
glazing bar window.
154. A large terraced house. 4 bay. Off centre doorway has glazed
double doors with double overlight in moulded ashlar surround with
ornate carved hood. To the right a single light window and above 2
single light windows and above again a 4 light double hipped dormer
with casements supported on carved wooden brackets. To the left a
slightly projecting wing with a 3 light canted bay window with cross
casements, above a double glazing bar sash flanked by single narrower
similar sashes. Above a projecting half timbered gable supported on
ornate wooden brackets with a 3 light casement. To the right a 3
storey circular, corner turret bay window, with 4 casements to the
lower floors and 8 casements to the top floor.
