Public house. C17, the porch dated 1655. C19 and C20 alterations and exten-
sions. Timber-frame with angle bracing and whitewashed brick nogging, part
herringbone; blackened granite rubble plinth; thatched roof with whitewashed
chimney of narrow brick between left bays. l½ storeys, 3 bays. C20 3-light
leaded casements, those to first floor in thatch. Lobby entry between left
bays, with old board door and dated porch. Porch has timber jambs with top
ends shaped into brackets, moulded lintel with date and small central pendant,
and half-hipped thatch roof. Right gable end of range is rebuilt in brick;
left end has C19 and C20 whitewashed brick extension, of 2 storeys and approxi-
mately 3 bays, under thatch roof. C20 leaded casements and double doors in
brick surround. Further extensions to rear around courtyard. Interior of C17
part retains timber-framing in partitions and part of rear wall. Chamfered
spine beams with some stops. Chimney has stop-chamfered wooden lintel to left,
and ovolo-moulded lintel to right.
