SK 82 SE BUCKMINSTER MAIN STREET
2/8 Old Manor Farmhouse
Farmhouse. c.1670, with mid C19 and mid C20 additions and
alterations. Coursed and squared limestone and brick with
limestone ashlar dressings and C20 pantile roof. Chamfered
plinth, 2 gable and single ridge brick stacks. 2 storeys plus
garrets, 5 bays. L-plan. South side has to right, a 3 bay front
with a slightly off-centre 3 light mullioned casement with flat
hood, flanked to left by a part-glazed C20 door, and to right by
a C20 glazing bar sash. Above the door, a small square fixed
light with wooden lintel. Beyond, to right, 2 three light
mullioned casements. Beyond, to left, C19 single storey service
wing with a paired glazing bar fixed light with wooden lintel,
flanked to left by a C20 casement. West end has 4 bay single
storey C20 addition. West gable has a 2 light mullioned casement
to the garret, with flat hood. East gable has, above, to right,
a mullioned casement. Interior has a mid C17 Tudor arched
moulded ashlar fireplace with late C18 basket grate, 2 bolection
moulded span beams, 2 fireplace bressummers with lozenge
patterns, and principal rafter roof with collars and single clasp
purlins. C19 winder stair with stick balusters.
