House. c.1790 with additions c.1900. Brick with ashlar
dressings and hipped slate roofs. Brick plinth, first and second
floor bands, moulded eaves, plain parapet. 3 lateral and 2 ridge
stacks. 3 storeys, 3 bays. Square plan. Windows are mainly
glazing bar sashes with flat arches. South front has central
stone doorcase with recessed panelled door flanked by single
fixed lights set upon square pedestals each with a round-headed
niche. Moulded transom and elliptical fanlight. Curved brackets
to flat hood. Curved steps with ramped iron handrails. Flanked
by single tripartite glazing bar sashes with flat brick arches.
Above, 3 smaller glazing bar sashes, and above them, 3 smaller
sashes, all with flat brick arches. Beyond, to left, parapeted
single storey billiard room with tripartite glazing bar sash,
flanked by single sashes. West side has to left, 2 storey rear
wing with 2 casements and above, a glazing bar sash. To right,
billiard room with 2 similar sashes. Above it, a casement and a
French window. Above again, a casement and a sash. Rear wing
east side has to left, door with fanlight and to right 2
casements with segmental heads. Above, 3 casements.
