Farmhouse with adjoining service wing and outbuilding. 1752 and
C19 with early C20 alterations. Coursed and squared ironstone,
partly roughcast, and brick, with limestone dressings and slate
roofs. Projecting quoins. 3 gable, single ridge and single
lateral brick stacks. 2 and 3 storeys, 5 bays. South side has
to left a 3 bay front with moulded central doorcase with keystone
and curved brackets to wooden hood. 6 panel door, the top 2
panels glazed, and overlight. To left, a glazing bar sash with
moulded ashlar architrave and keystone. To right, a late C19
square bay window with a plain sash, and a further sash in the
left side. Above, 3 glazing bar sashes with moulded architraves
and keystones. Beyond, to right, 2 storey service wing with C17
plank door flanked to left by a C19 casement and to right by a
C20 lean-to toilet. Beyond, to right, outbuilding with a coped
gable has an off-centre C18 plank door flanked to left by a
casement and to right by a gabled wing with a sliding sash with
segmental head. Above it, a tall staircase light with segmental
head, and beyond, to left, 2 casements with segmental heads.
Above again, a datestone inscribed 'GC 1752'. Above again, a
large sliding sash. Outbuilding east gable has a barred wooden
mullioned casement. Above it, a 3 light sliding sash. Above
again, a C20 casement. The interior not inspected, but said to
contain an outstanding contemporary staircase.
