Police Station. 1846. Brick with slate roof. 2 storeys in 3 wide bays.
Centre bay projects under a pediment and is defined by rusticated brick
quoins as are corners of elevation. C20 panelled door under segmental
gauged arch is flanked to each side by narrow sashes with glazing bars.
Side bays lit through segmental headed sashes with glazing bars set within
recessed arches, the windows and arches with gauged brickwork. Platband
between floors and 3 sashes to first floor in projecting architraves.
Hipped roof with 2 stacks on ridge. Interior C20. An early example of a
purpose built police station.
