SKEFFINGTON

SK 70 SW MAIN STREET (South Side)

Cottage. 2 distinct parts, the front is early C19 but the rear range may be
C16 or C17. Front is painted brickwork with Welsh slate roof. 2 storeyed,
2 units with central door with overlight and flanking 16-light sash windows
on each floor. Gable end stacks. Rear wing is coursed ironstone rubble with
mud lower gable wall incorporating a spindly cruck. Thatched roof. I½ storeyed
with 3 2-light casement windows to ground floor with flat timber lintels,
2 eyebrow dormers above containing 2-light casements.
