House. Dated 1709. Whitewashed rendered brick and Swithland slate hipped
and gabled roofs with brick ridge and end stacks. Front to left, 2 ranges
: that to right with hipped roof, that to left, set behind right range, with
gabled roof. Right range has plinth, band and moulded eaves, and is of 2
storeys of 2 6/6 sash windows. 2 French windows below. On right end facing
Hamilton Lane are 2 2-lights with blank window and 1-light over. C20 2 storey
flat-roofed extension to right in angle between the 2 ranges. Left range
of 2 storeys of2 6/6 sashes over similar sash and 6-panelled door (the top
panels glazed) to right. Band and moulded and nogged brick eaves. On right
range inner return an 8/8 sash with 6/6 over. Extensions to left and rear.
On right end facing Hamilton Lane are 'W' and '09' in brick, the rest obliterated
by subsequent 2-light and the C20 extension. Inside are 6-panelled doors
and early C18 oak staircase with 3 turned balusters to tread. Pevsner.
