Summer house. Later C19. Granite rubble stone, ornamented with white stone,
and plain tile octagonal conical roof with lead finial. Octagonal plan of
1 storey with plinth. Central doorway and angled lintel and painted Egyptian
columns as jambs. On each face of octagon, which is partly ivy covered, there
appear to be alternating small and larger blocked window frames except the
window opposite the door which not blocked. Angled lintels which together
with jambs which are decorated with alternating white stone. Rock-work decoration
surrounding. The eaves have brackets decorated with carved heads of animals.
Summer house stands on island in middle of large pond in former grounds of
Thurnby Court, now demolished, and is reached from No. 10 Lakeside.
