House, formerly inn. Core C16, considerably altered and added to later. Ironstone
rubble to ground floor, render over timber frame above. Two storeyed, two unit
plan with central doorway in latticed porch and outer recent canted bay windows.
Two 3-light casement windows above. Round headed archway through to rear to
right. Gable end stacks. Date of 1879 in gable, presumably recording its heightening
and re-roofing. Late C18 rear wing. Inside, substantial remains of timber framed
upper floor and roof. Rail or wall plate at floor level supports 2 pairs of posts
with cambered tie beams and arched braces, and one pair of posts with straight
tie beam. C18 doors and door furniture.
