WELHAM
BOWDEN LANE (South East Side)
Walls to Manor House Garden

GV
II

Wall. Probably C17 or earlier. Coursed ironstone rubble with raking top and
ashlar coping, roll moulded at apex. Circa 8' high, the wall forms a boundary
with Churchyard and runs along Bowden Lane where there is a small doorway,
the remains of a moulded and chamfered gate pier and large gateway cut through
it. The wall is all that survives of the former hall, replaced in the early
C18.
