BLASTON

SP 89 NW The Old Rectory

House. C18, extended C19. Coursed rubble stone with quoins, and red brick.
Welsh slate roof with brick end and valley stacks. 3 gables facing, central
projecting slightly. 2 builds, the gable facing range to right the earlier.
Here stone coped gables with tiny shoulders and kneelers. 2½ storeys of 2
centre-opening 3-light casements, one in each of centre and left gables.
Cambered lintels. On ground floor, from left : 2-light wooden mullion and
transom window, similar 5-light canted bay, gabled porch with Gothic arch
and part-glazed door within, and 2-light. Gable of porch and those of roof
centre and left have wavy barge boards. In right gable attic a 1-light Gothic
arched window with diamond lattice casement. On right end further casements
and 2-light dormer.
