House. c1300 and C17. Probably cruck framed, coursed rubble stone and squared
stone with quoins and Collywestonn slate roof with moulded stone ridge and
projecting side stacks, and brick wing end stack. T plan, side of gabled
cross wing faces road, hall wing projects to rear, and front faces left.
2½ storeys of 3 windows, 2 3-light casements and 2-light stone mullion window
with hood mould in cross wing to right. Similar 2-light over. On ground
floor a similar 3-light either side lean-to porch in cross wing inner return
angle. Buttress to left. On right side facing road a massive projecting
stack to left and 2 2-light casements over 3-light stone mullion window with
hood mould and 2-light casement. Buttress between. Lean-to on right. Inside
there remains the c1300 wall between screens passage and kitchen : 3 single
chamfered arches of equal size. Said also to be raised base cruck and roof
truss of open hall. 'The rare survival of a late C13 or early C14 house'.
