House. Late C16/C17, altered C18. Coursed rubble stone and timber framed
colourwashed rendered brick. Swithland slate roof with colourwashed rendered
brick ridge and end stacks. H plan with gabled cross wings. 2 storeys. On
left gable a gabled wooden openwork porch and door with upper ground floor
3-light casement to right. Leaded lights and moulded hood mould. In recessed
centre a 4-light stone mullion window and 3-light casement over. Both have
leaded lights. To right of these a part louvered window with 1-light over.
On right gable a 3-light casement both floors, the upper with leaded lights
and moulded hood mould. Extending from left end a red brick garden wall c2 1/2m
high bordering High Street. Brick coping. Inside are said to be tie beam
trusses with curved principals. V.C.H., Vol.V.
