SP 79 NW Gateway to rear of
Shangton Hall
4/99 Farmhouse.

Gateway. Formerly dated 1669. Ashlar and rubble stone. Rounded archway with
moulded imposts and faceted keystone. Flat top with moulded cornice.
Fragments of rubble stone walls to sides. The top originally had a cresting,
the remains of which are set close by. One stone is inscribed '1669'. V.C.H,
Vol. V, p293, and Pevsner, p373.
