Farmhouse. Core probably C18, refronted early C19. Brick on granite plinth
with plain tiled roof. Main range of 2 storeys with attic, 3 bays with
central doorway with steep round arched head and flanking 3-light casements
with cambered brick heads on each floor and smaller 2-light window over
doorway. Gable end stacks. The back wall of this range is of random granite
rubble and so is its 1 1/2 storeyed outshut which has partially blocked window
to ground floor and a 2-light casement above in the gable end. The ground
floor room was formerly a dairy and contains the thrawls. Lower rear wing may
have been in separate occupation at some time. It is also brick with plain
tiled roof and has doorway to left contained in half of a once wider opening.
Two 3-light casements, one with cambered head beyond, then another doorway. 2
casement windows above. Axial stack over inglenook. Cheese room and possible
bacon curing chamber at first floor level. Behind this wing is another added
in C19 and housing the bake house.
