Chapel. Largely C18, extended c1815. The earliest fragment is probably early
C18 and is a tiny single storeyed wing to the rear with two renewed 3-light
casement windows. The later C18 part forms an L plan with an additional
hipped roof projecting bay on the entrance front containing door in wood
architrave and a 2-light casement to its right, a 4-light sash window with
steeply arched head above, though this is a C19 insertion. 2-light casement
windows with cambered heads in left hand bay of main range also. Moulded
eaves cornice. Lean-to porch to right with round headed archway and behind
that a canted end gable of the main range, which is a C19 addition, and has in
each facet paired round headed windows, recessed with stained glass in leaded
lights and chequerwork brick band above. The moulded eaves detail is
repeated. The foundation of this chapel was in 1650.
