SP 68 NE LAUGHTON MAIN STREET

4/32 Home Farmhouse

GV II

House. C17 with C18 additions and C20 alterations. Timber-framed, faced in brick
in C18. Thatched roof with gable stack and ridge stack. Cement rendered plinth.
Single storey with attic. East front: 4 bays. Small C20 rectangular window with
to right, a 2-light casement, and to left a similar window followed by a blocked
doorway, with another similar window beyond, all with cambered arches. Above, 2
eyebrow dormers, each with a 2-light casement, both interrupting a timber wall
plate running along eaves. North gable end wall has bargeboarded eaves and an
off-centre doorway with cambered arch, sloped hood on brackets, and plank door.
To left, a casement with cambered arch. Above, a 2-light casement with cambered
arch interrupts remains of a timber roof truss. Adjoining rear range of brick,
with slate roof, coped gable with kneelers and ridge stack and gable stack. North
front: 2 storeys, 3 bays. Off-centre doorway with cambered arch and plank door.
To left, a small casement, and beyond, a larger 2-light casement, both with
cambered arches. Above to right, a small casement, and to left, a 2-light
casement with remains of a timber wall-plate beneath its cill.
