4/33 The Thatch Cottage

GV II

Cottage, formerly a pair of cottages. Late C17 with C19 and C20 alterations.
Rendered timber-framing and brick. Thatched roof with brick gable stack.
Partially chamfered brick plinth. Single storey with attic. East front: 3 bays.
Central 3-light casement with cambered arch over 2 left-hand lights. To left,
another similar window. Beyond this, a tiny plain sash with wooden lintel. to
right, a fixed light with a 2-light casement beyond. Above, 2 eyebrow dormers,
that to the left with a 3-light sliding sash, that to the right with a C20 2-light
casement. Interior: exposed main beams with run-out stops and joists.
